We lost a legend this week. David Lynch wad not everyone's cup of tea, and his work often either misunderstood, or not understood at all, but it made you think. 

His take on DUNE is still one of my favorite movies, with an equally amazing score/soundtrack.

... that two of my favorite recent horror flicks are reimaginings of older films, starred by the daughters of famous actors, set in Germany, and carry themes about the tension between gender and power.

Diamonds Are Forever

Looking at the seriousness of the topic and it's cinematic execution , this film didn't deserve to be released theatrically, but should have rather taken the Prime (OTT) path at the first place itself, which director Shoojit Sircar's previous two films 'Gulabo Sitabo' and 'Sardar Udham' took. Nevertheless, this is a film that subtly touches determination, parenting, and generation gap in a brilliant manner. The film focuses on a marketing wizard who undergoes multiple surgeries and defeats Cancer. Throughout its Hollywood style execution, Sircar successfully brings out the career best performance from Abhishek Bachchan (couldn't imagine anyone else in the lead role) and he also pitches in some 'Piku' through the moments shared with Bachchan and his on-screen daughter (a killer Ahilya Bamroo) with a dash of Bangla culture. Veterans Jayant Kripalani and Johnny Lever along with Kristin  Goddard are riveting and they bring lots of freshness and richness to the film. Hats off to Ritesh Shah whose astounding scripting seals his position as the most reliable screenwriter in Indian Cinema right now. Overall, do yourself a meditative favour and watch this film. Gave me the impact exactly how "Wonder Days" gave me.

🎬 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) by Tomas Alfredson 🇸🇪

A dark cold war spy film with very good cast and a lot of mystery and suspense. The atmosphere reminded me of the book 'The Second Death Of Ramon Mercader' by Jorge Semprún 🇪🇸.

The office felt like a mix of a happy place and a scary movie. Ideas were flowing, but every sound and shadow made it feel full of suspense.



Btw my fav genre is horror, suspense, action+comedy.

Where would you rat Julie & Julia? Feel free to express your thoughts and opinions in the comments 

For me: ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2. While not a favorite nor something I would watch daily, the film has a lot of charm and good performances especially from Meryl Streep as Julia Child who just gets lost in the role. As for Amy Adams as Julie she’s fine though admittedly I see more of Amy Adams than I do the character she is suppose to play. Still she has enough charm that you do follow her story enough and hardships she facing as well as both the characters story are intertwined and similar 

These are both based on true stories and this was my introduction to Julia Child as well as that famous SNL sketch that’s in the film. I recommend that if you love cooking or want to know more about Julia Child this isn’t a bad film to check out.
