Absolutely Perfect

We’ve all seen a bad or perhaps a dated film that could possibly be given the remake treatment. Despite Hollywood especially Disney wanting to give remakes to mostly good films, perhaps there are bad/dated films that could be remade.

What bad and/or dated film would you like to see remade into something that could be better?

For me: I actually had to look at a list of the worst films of all time according to Rotten Tomatoes and out of the 100 the one I’ve seen is Master of Disguise with Dana Carvey. I think there could be something of a remake, but the comedy needs Happy Madison to be absent and finding a good person who can do great impressions, wear great costumes/disguises, and a well defined and not annoying character that Dana Carvey played.

A Bad or Dated Film You Want Remade?

I get asked a lot what my favorite movie of all time is, and honestly I don't think I have an answer to that. I could never pick one as my all time favorite. I can however name my favorite movie franchises lol.

What is everyone's top 3 movie franchises? I'll go first...

1. Lord of the Rings
2. Star Wars 
3. Harry Potter

3rd place was a very close race so I have to give a couple honorable mentions to the matrix trilogy and pirated of the Caribbean. Might be a couple franchises I'm forgetting about atm.

I nedd to go see Paddington in Peru this weekend. If it follows in tbe footsteps of the previous Paddington movies, it will be great. I hate that Mrs. Brown got recast though. It will be really strange not seeing Sally Hawkins not fill the role.

More trailers showing bits more of the film

A teaser and a official trailer is enough just don’t show too much

Do you think film trailers should show less, limit to teaser and first trailers, or should there be 2 or more trailers showing more of the film? 

I’m kind of in the middle because on the one hand having more trailers showing off may gain different audience reactions and give time for the filmmakers to fix mistakes for better or worse (eg. Sonic the Hedgehog for ugly Sonic , Aladdin Live Action for blue Will Smith CG, All the Money in the World substituting Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer, etc). Plus sometimes more can make you decide whether or not it’s worth seeing in theaters or streaming.

On the other hand depending on the trailers they may show more thus breaking the illusion and story that it’s predictable. One example that is most recent is 2025’s The Monkey. While a good dark comedy that unfortunately doesn’t have much horror, the trailers show too much of the deaths or at least more of the set-ups and when I did see it a lot of the death setups were in the trailer kind of losing its shock and comedic value. If anyone hasn’t seen the trailers for The Monkey, I highly recommend you don’t see any of the trailers. Also I can think of two first 1st official trailers reactions I had that felt perfect, but trailers after that didn’t make much of impact. Granted I think my choices are due to the choice in music, but the Logan trailer with Johnny Cash’s rendition of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. Then there is Alita:Battle Angel with Lullaby for a Soldier by Maggie Siff. I watch those just as much as I watch the actual films for them it’s just so good.

I hope I’m making sense. Just writing this while getting up.
