Good ol' pixie dust
Always seeming to "let out the pixie dust" with my electronics, lol. This time it was a little different. I had a power outage recently and my battery backup system worked perfectly and kept everything online! But, once the power came back online something was slowly going awry... The batteries... They began to charge back up.... To dangerous levels. Turns out one of the cells in a lead acid battery was shot and was offgassing. I think the cell got over discharged. Anywho I replaced both batteries for $100 then saved one of the old ones to refurbish a different UPS. So now I have an extra working one. Moral of the story if you start tasting metallic ions, you should check your surroundings. (edited)
