North vs South (America)

So my buddy and I were talking and we both agreed people in the south are way nicer than in the north. I want to get the thoughts of others who've been all over the US

I thought you were talking about North America vs South America 😭😭 In terms of the US, I would say that Southerners tend to be cordial and respectful in public but will be nasty behind closed doors. Contrastingly, Northerners tend to be standoffish and abrasive in public but sincere and thoughtful in private. However, I feel that it's more accurate to divide the US by urban and rural rather than North and South. For example, I technically live in the South (I live in Texas) but I specifically live in Houston (the fourth largest city in the country), so I often feel more like a Northener than a Southerner. We southerners were raised with manners. Otherwise you got a bar of soap, belt/switch, or a quick backhand. Northerners were raised, and are currently, by parents screaming out the window at each other.
