What the what in Haruhi Suzumiya

So here I am, still watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Spoilers, I guess? Maybe. The final two or three episodes of the first season were a time loop where you are basically watching the same events, even though they reanimated everything. I thought cool, that was kind of creative that they did that, let's see what's next! And I started the second season. I have now watched THREE more episodes where they did the same thing, each reanimated with small changes. That totals me having watched five episodes that are the same in a row so far. Here's the catch, the episodes that repeat in the second season are titled "endless eight", of which there are ANOTHER SIX EPISODES with that title!!! This suspiciously sounds like ten episodes, almost one full season of this show, is just one episode being repeated! I can't say that I hate it, because the slight differences each time are enough to make it not boring, and I dig how there is this foreboding sense, and it feels like these tiny differences between loops COULD amount to being meaningful in the end...but I just can't see that happening and am expecting to be disappointed and angry at the end of it. I was really enjoying the weirdness of this show, but I am worried that it has finally gone too far for me, and that the devs are literally just trolling me for no reason. I am losing my motivation to go on. Wat do?
