A conversation I have a lot with art teachers is that a self portrait doesn't need to be a visual of a face, and only needs to be how that artist sees themself. Many of my self portraits are how I see parts of my body (hands in front of me doing a hobby), or a landscape of my surgical scars. You are doing great, precision isn't necessary in the grand scheme of a self portrait.
