So I see this question pop up a lot still in 2024 and I have to ask it here because why not lol Do you think men and women can just be friends? Why or why not. I personally think they can but I’m curious to see what everyone else thinks. Also do you have friends of the opposite gender?

Yeah! My best friend is a guy I've known for YEARS, we have stated multiple times to each other and other people, never gonna happen, that's my little brother, we have spent the night together more times than I care to count and never done more than a hug. As for why can we be friends and never go further, I don't know, I don't think with my privates? I can have friends of any gender, and I'm attracted to every gender, guess it's just par for the course for me

It's possible yes , although it won't work if you spend soo much time together eventually someone is gonna catch feelings. I have a few female friends, one is my best friends GF , she's like a sister to me. The other is aromantic and asexual so it makes things very easy and simple

I refer to my best friend as my platonic life mate. Yes they can, but to keep things platonic does require repeated effort as human emotions are extremely fluid. The closer you are, the more likely feelings arise periodically. However if you value this person, with effort and constant self reminders of priorities, it will work.

I feel like people that think they can have an opinion on who is allowed to be friends with who need to work on their own securities. People who won't talk to someone solely because they have a friend of the opposite sex are shallow and not worth your time. (edited)
