On the left is how I met him - frightened, dirty, so gaunt you could /see/ his hip bones, so sick that the overnight emergency vet didn't know if he would make it through the night. Even after he made it through the worst he was still going to be on medicine for the rest of his life, and considering the loud heart murmur the vet heard and his cataracts which were most likely because of advanced age... On the right is Pico now. Pico is a scamp. He will throw is entire body into you to pet him. He will destroy toys in minutes. He likes fruits and vegetables. He goes bark to bark with the two dobermans next door (he's very lucky the fence is sturdy). He'll occasionally walk into things because he's still blind and the little face he makes when it does it is adorable. Today I went for his well visit. The vet told me she had no idea he was the same dog at first. The heart murmur is gone. He filled out and was so active her initial thought about his age (10) might have been double what it actually is. I'm just incredibly happy this little guy was there when I went to the shelter that day.
