Would you still want it?

Would it be selfish to make your partner happy, even if they want to be sad? Even if the end goal is positive, should it still be classified as "selfish"?

I like to think of myself as selfish all the times by being generous to my friends & to maintain a positive environment; selfish in nature, yes. With that idea in mind, I always see people act selfish in their own ways whether it's through politics, identity, or basic emotion (like me) & yet they would never admit it.

Does admitting being selfish come across as a negative trait? If so, why link it to "entitlement" loosely or justify it's meaning by the phrase "serving self-interest". Thoughts?

Choices

Do you ever wonder about how the choices we make could all be connected to guide us in a way to where fate wants us to be or are you more of a it just happens kinda person

There is an idea of child, skeptic and creator (neitzche had different names for them) where the child just accepted meaning, the skeptic questions meaning and the creator creates meaning. I've become too skeptical and it definitely ruins things. What goals can you have in life if nothing matters because you have deemed them logically pointless? Therefor im starting to treat life like a video game. Everything in a game whether its the characters, world, items and goals are fake but you do them simply because you enjoy them. You allow yourself in a sense to be stupid for a greater enjoyment. I could even put this in a logical way that since humans need meaning that allowing myself to enjoy meanings that don't make 100% logic is still good for me mentally which would then make it logical.


I had started down this rabbit hole thinking about the idea of patriotism and that its hard to specially like my country when we are citizens of them same planet and even if cultures are different but have alot of similarities. I've started to think of my country as like the concept of family that due to being born in it I have a unique connection to it due to its influence on me. That American tales of heroism would effect me differently than being born in Germany and its tales of heroism. Adding to this is the concept of how language effects the way we think.


There's a good quote that logic is the slave of passion and desire. Meaning that logic can't really find out why you want things cause some things are just you. You can't give reasons that something is your favorite color because you didn't logically figure it out. You just felt it and then that was that. Even besides that no matter what society tells you, you will like things you like because its just you. For example being gay in a homophobic household.


This is important to me because I have a.d.d and so my brain never stops thinking so when something is perceived as illogical then it won't stop bringing it up so I'm trying to learn to just live in the world and not just perceive it.

I honestly hate being brought this question cause of people who use this to try and  justify being a murder, slave owner, and so much more.

If equalivance was enforced like a "law of the land", then I guess everyone would never be created or born with abortion, I guess every creature of creation would be hunted as a food source or trophy on the wall, I guess every soul would be a slave and not have a choice. I guess nobody would be able to enjoy the activities they want to cause if one creature can fly and one can not, if one can breathe underwater and the other can not. Family would not exist, cause if every creature was treated equal then get ready to live like the animals and be dropped off in isolation as soon as your born or at 2 weeks old.

I could go on and on, but I would like to hear others opinions.

What's fair or equal in the eyes of a perfect creator or creation or civilization?

It's a horrible reflection of the world that we currently live in 
It was predicted by philosophers and critical thinkers along time ago and here we finally are a dystopia claiming to one day become a utopia lol like that will ever happen.
 God separated the languages for a reason but of course we had to teach the entire world English and try to build a new Babylon with silicon chips instead of mortar and brick.

Someone once told me that life is all about trial and errors, and then learning from those errors. I really felt that. 

I often find myself searching for what I think I want from life... and I think what I need is to find the space and time to experience what the universe has to offer and to learn from those experiences. For better or worse

Space and Time

The therapist I currently have was talking to me about how she doesn't believe you have to suffer while you heal. I started wrestling with this idea for a couple days after to really determine if I agree or disagree with her. Honestly I have to say I disagree. It would be nice if healing through horrific events did not require traversing incredible pain, but if I look back on every time that I have actually overcome something in my life, healing always required courage to embrace the pain that I had previously tried to run away from. And if I look at the people who never heal and who repeat bad patterns, the common factor they seem to have is this notion that they can heal without having to navigate and feel that pain. Considering my therapist has the opposite world view of me, I think I'm going to have to find a new one. In a perfect world, healing wouldn't cost embracing that pain but we don't get to choose how the process works, we can only choose to run from it or to face it head on. Either way the consequences are severe, but one of those things has the potential to heal us if it doesn't kill us first. But I know first hand that running away will surely kill me. Even if I physically live, everything that actually matters to me when it comes to my values will die out and in my opinion, that fate is worse than death.

From police officers and doctors to shoppers and workers - people put on costumes, accept titles and begin to believe that the role is who they really are. A policeman imagines he is a policeman. A businessman imagines he is a businessman. People spend their lives acting inside a reality created by human ideas, rules, institutions and expectations. 
The world becomes one enormous theatre. Uniforms are costumes, professions are characters, laws and social norms are part of the script  and society teaches everyone how they are supposed to perform.

If everything you call “yourself” is a role you learned to play, who is the one behind the mask?

recent spiraling thoughts: impermanence of reality, the nuisance of having no available certainty, the paralyzing fear of realizing i have to somehow coherently communicate my stupid thoughts with words. how embarrassingly vulnerable to have to think up something clever and charming to say! especially when all that's in here 🧠 is nonesense.

I used to think it was a flaw.

I thought I was making everything harder than it needed to be. I would replay conversations in my head, wonder what people really meant, question my own reactions, and sometimes spend more time trying to understand a moment than actually living it.

But the older I get, the more I realize that’s just how my mind works.

I like to understand things. I like to know what drives people, what shapes them, what they don’t say out loud. I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior because I don’t believe anyone is ever “just like that.” There is always a reason, a story, an experience behind the way we think, love, protect ourselves, or walk away.

Sometimes I think too much, I’ll admit it. I can get lost in my own thoughts. But I’ve also learned that thinking deeply isn’t always a bad thing. It has made me more patient, more observant, and probably more compassionate. The more I try to understand people, the less I judge them.

I’ve stopped trying to silence this part of myself.

Now, I’m just learning when to let go. Not every question needs an answer, and not every silence needs to be filled with meaning. Some things are simply meant to be lived.

I still think a lot. Probably more than most people.

But I don’t see it as something to fight anymore.

It’s part of who I am. And honestly, I think it’s one of the reasons I keep growing.

I am an overthinker.

It’s funny how self-absorbed we can get, walking around constantly waiting for people to disappoint us. But when you actually pay attention to normal, everyday life, you realize how much casual kindness is just quietly happening around us. Total strangers step aside, hold doors, and look out for one another. At our core, I think the vast majority of us are just naturally wired to be good to each other. 
We brace for a harsh world, but ordinary streets tell a gentler story. Human decency isn't the exception—it is our quiet, everyday default.

I've started believing that the most important decisions in life aren't the ones that change our circumstances, they're the ones that slowly change our character.
Achievements come and go. Opinions change. Success is often a matter of timing. But the kind of person we become through our choices is something we carry everywhere.
I'm less interested in asking, "Will this make me happy?" and more interested in asking, "Will this help me become someone I admire?"

We hear a lot about what people expect from a relationship. The standard script usually sounds like a checklist of requirements: someone to provide security, someone to take care of them, someone to fill a specific role or anchor them down against the world.

While talking with a friend, I never really sat down to map out what I wanted. I was always more fascinated just listening to everyone else’s desires and treating it like an observer. Seeing how heavily people focus on what a partner can do for them made me realize how radically different my blueprint for connection is…

I find myself looking for a fellow traveler, someone to walk beside. A person whole in their own autonomy, rich in spirit rather than possessions, and fueled by passions they burn to share. I crave an intersection of lifetimes, not a transaction of security. I want a love that builds no cages, expects no debts, and makes no false promises to eternity. 

A love that looks change in the eye. 

Two separate lives, deeply awake to the reality that nothing lasts, see the brief flash of existence and feel a pull like gravity to spend it in orbit together, choosing to give each other the most precious thing they own: their finite time, shared in radical presence.
