What makes someone's style "gothic"?

I find it quite difficult to name styles once they go into the gothic, emo, witchy, grunge, egirl/eboy etc. direction

I think using black lipstick is almost always gothic. A cute goth girl, with eye liner, a good outfit and black lipstick will always make my heart skip a beat 😳

I think. If my memory serves correctly it's a reference to the barbarian gothic people, the style of art and design of gothic variety come from France/Germany. So it's supposed to be brutalist only as a style of clothing.

Well, black and heavy make up is a must for sure. Plus it's also about preferences. You can't be a goth girl dancing Britney Spears goddamnit 🤣
I mean, it's really weird I know, but for me, a true gothic person needs to fit/blend perfectly in a gothic church/cemetery. Then voilà 🤗

Gothic is just a dark gritty aesthetic influenced by medieval times and horror. There’s one called Harley somewhere on this app with pretty hair. She’s quite gothic.
