A Horror Classic That Almost Went Differently

Welsh actor Christian Bale was put on the map when he took on the legendary role of Patrick Bateman in "American Psycho." Before that, he had some minor success in the industry. Director Mary Harron specifically wanted Bale for the film, but executives already requested Leonardo DiCaprio due to him being a more household name. When he and Harron were fired by Lionsgate, Bale continued to prep for the role. He even turned down other roles, confident that he and Mary would be rehired. Sure enough, he was right. "American Psycho" made over 34 million on a budget of 7 million.
