One of the many reasons I don't like Jason...if he died as a kid how is he a full grown giant?

The thing you see called Jason is not a human being.  After Jason's mother died her murderous rage could not be extinguished. The boy in the lake was the first manifestation of that fury's avatar.  In the following movies his final form took shape.
