did medusa deserve to be beheaded?
such misogyny in the greek myths. but... that was the way of the world back then, no? the "bad" and "ugly" women were killed off, and the shining goddesses prevailed. even my favourite goddess, athena, was rather petty. turnt a poor girl into the first spider because her weaving was on par with athena's! so. what think you? was medusa really actually evil, or was perseus just an entitled horse's ass?

TW: $uicide, r@pe Athena turned arachne into a spider after seeing the error in her reaction to the mortal's talent. Arachne hung in her shame. Athena took pity on the lost soul and ensured she would be able to practice her craft for all time. Medusa (one of Athena's v!rgin priestesses) was taken by Poseidon forcefully (due to her other worldly beauty). Athena transformed her so that she would be protected from the impetus of men. I don't recall what led to Athena aiding Perseus in Medusa's end, but I feel like there was a strange set of events that left her hands tied. I should brush up a bit on that one. (edited)

From what I remembered people used to be like this but the gods feared them so the forced them apart so they would roam the earth looking for their other half.
