Paleoart #49 Quetzalcoatlus

Quetzalcoatlus still remains the largest flying animal to have ever existed, much like the god it was named after, standing at 17 feet tall and with a 40 foot wingspan, it was a titan in the air and on land. Due to its incredible size, it spent most of its life terrestrially, snatching small prey like a modern stork would, including young Tyrannosaurs, baby Sauropods, small ornithopods, fish, even other pterosaurs. This piece by Mark P. Witton features the two giant Azhdarchids towering over two ceratopsidae, hardly even acknowledging them. The soft contrast of the pterosaurs blends their bodies into the trees of the background, they appear less like animals and more like statues, still yet sculpted, unreal in their design.
