The Buccaneer (A Fun Little Pirate Poem)

With steel in grip and fire in soul, we stand upon the plank, To duel for honor, for control, in ranks both high and lowly rank. Swords clash and sparks they fly, like stars in darkened skies, Each move a dance with death so nigh, where only the brave survive. A shipmate’s cry from 'neath the deck, calls out into the fray, We lunge and parry, save from wreck – no pirate left to sway. With daring might and heart so true, we fend off the aggressor, Rescue comes with a motley crew, for every fallen lesser. But hark! What treachery takes its toll 'bout our gallant vessel? A mutiny most foul and droll, stirred up by hands of devil. "Avast!" they cry, with cunning eyes, to seize the ship as theirs, But little do they realize – it’s a gambit of despair. For loyalty binds tighter than chains, amongst this noble crew, The mutineers' plan wanes, as their numbers quickly subdue. The captain stands, his voice a boom, across the foaming brine, "Ye treacherous dogs, embrace your doom, this ship remains mine!" In twilight years, the time draws near, to take yer final bow, A life of waves, of friends so dear, of a journey’s end now. Let it be said, let it be known, when we meet our final night, We lived, we loved, we reaped what's sown, as pirates in our right. And so with one last triumphant roar, to the heavens we shall shout, We lived the life of legend, of myth, what sea tales are about. Hoist the colors, let them wave, our legend never dies, In every heart and salty grave, our spirit forever lies.
