would you change if you where corupted?

so, I'm curious. If you had really bad mental issues, lets say such high trust issues and mood swings that you litterally cant trust others nor yourself but there is a treatment that can "normalise" (essentially brainwash) you to be normal again. Would you take it and why or why not?
