No, I don't believe that 'age is just a number. What matters how mature and understanding he is. If u askme the age gap between the twowill be 3-4 yrs or max 5 because it fills the blocks between the two.
I do not want to datewho is below my age because In some areas he behaves maturely but in some, he does not. So, there is a chance of getting turned off in the conversation.

You have a good point. Life experience is an important factor. No matter how mature onemay think themselves are, they may lack other experience and the maturity that comes with that experience.

I find dating people whose brains haven't reached a stage of mature growth yet to be off putting. I personally wouldn't date anyone under 20 or so.

I think that's the biggest reason why I find older women more attractive: more experience and maturity. I agree, dating anyone younger than 20 is sketchy to me, even anyone under 23. In my personal experience, there is some kind of maturity switch that flipsaround 23-24, but obviously, everyone is different.

In practice e.g. real life if it's mutualinterest it's fine, even if the interest is by a 12 year old. I mean if you are 20+ dating 12 year olds it's a bitweirdlmao but I have seen it and parents were also ok with it and the girl (my cousin) didn't grow up with some kind of trauma

Right, I should have clarified, but this post was assuming between adults, but there are unique circumstances. In other countries, marriages are arranged and marrying young is encouraged...

Haha I feel the same! I don't knowexactly why, but I just like older women (30s-40s) 😂, and like you 5-10yrs, maybe 15yrs seems reasonable to me. Although, I am pretty open-minded. Age is just a number to me, but there's also a lot of other factors to consider as well...

I generally try to follow the rules of half your age +7 for minimum dating age but at the same time I do enjoy the company of older women more than younger. They always have more experience in the world and are more likely to have beliefs that align more with mine than a younger person would.

What are your thoughts on dating someone with a significant age difference?
I'm interested in seeing what others' thoughts and opinions are towards: Older women dating younger Older men dating younger Assuming this is between adults- Is age just a number, or do you believe that there is a limit for how large the age gap should be?
