Communication in relationship

What do you do when your (very busy and depressed) partner misses super important plans, and only tells you they’re going to miss your very important plans on the morning of- and then agrees to improve their communication… only to miss your make-up plans the next week and not tell you until the morning of again? Do you give them another chance because you know they’re busy and probably not in the best place mentally? Or do you give up because they still don’t understand that the reason you’re upset is because they keep flaking last second and not telling you? Asking for a friend 🤗
