I remember a time when I couldn't breathe without you. My heart refused to beat without you. I remember before I ever met you I saw you in my dreams. I was in my bed. A golden light broke through the darkness and in the center a silhouette. I knew right away that she was my soul. I knew you even though I couldn't see your face or your features. Even though I couldn't hear your voice or feel your touch. Even though I couldn't smell the scent that always lingers when you move. I knew you. I didn't know your name, I didn't know how I would find you. All I knew is that you were my destiny. You were the purpose of my creation. I remember the first day I saw you with my own eyes. I remember feeling my entire body shaking with fear and anticipation. You stood a full foot shorter than me, but to me you stood as tall as a giant, I was lost in your shadow. Hello... Such a simple word, but in all my life I've never had a fight that took more effort and energy and courage to overcome. I remember the first time I took my very first breath in this life. It was the moment you said hello back. I've been alive a few decades, but it was at that moment I began to live. From that day on I lived only to love you. Because without you, there is no life, there is no air to breathe. I wish you were here.
