What's the Pet? It's a relevant question... Because if its a caT. He'll make his own way out when he's ready.

In times of crisis pets tend to save themselves. And five years sounds old enough in dog years to know better so Obviously get the child.

Mate, even if someone loved their pet more than their child, you realize you'll get imprisoned if law enforcement ever found out you let a child die on purpose?

You save the child, for obvious reasons. But even if it were an even choice, your odds of getting to the room one over and then out are much higher than being able to get upstairs then out. So maybe if your child was the one upstairs, you could argue that you saved what you could without risking further deaths (both you and them dying helps no one). But come on, if you go out of the way to save the pet, when the child was the easier choice, you're screwed, legally.

Obviously son and/or daughter first. I don't have any but I don't think their mother would be happy with me leaving the kids to burn alive if I had any (edited)
