Fight, flight, or freeze

Everyone has occasions where one reaction wins out over the others, but it does seem as though the most common reaction to stress is to freeze up. I’ve spent a while thinking about how to find people who fall into either the fight or flight mode as a default among the “freeze” masses. Do you know… read more

The sounds of squirrels 🐿️ wandering through the autumn forest 🌳 🍂

How truly peaceful out here just standing in the sunshine and listening to them rustle the leaves as they darted around and rested and flew through again…here, there, everywhere… The sounds of the forest are so very much needed for our wellbeing. These sounds are part of a natural and deeply… read more

2024 & 2026

Two different chapters, both special in their own way. 🤍 Two years ago, I loved makeup and dressing up. Today, I’m much more comfortable with less of it. As I’ve grown, I’ve realised that beauty is so much more than what we see on the outside. It’s taking care of yourself, your wellbeing, your… read more

Toxic cat

This is the most toxic teammate. Will silently sit beside me and judge me. After running it down for the 3rd time he just sits in front of the keyboard begging me to stop for the wellbeing of the league community

Why I Left Nursing⁶

I left nursing because, over time, the work became emotionally and physically overwhelming for me. Nursing is a profession that requires you to give so much of yourself. You don't simply care for someone's illness. You care for the whole person—their body, their emotions, their fears, their… (edited) read more

Growth 💯💯💯💯💯

Some people only stay close while you’re useful to them. I used to think everyone around me cared about me the same way. But time has a way of exposing people without them ever saying it directly. Some people truly love you. You feel it in the way they stay consistent with you, even when you have… read more

Question: How do you know if the man you’re dating is dumb or just acting and trying to look dumb? [A long read]

Disclaimer for some of the words used, but here’s the scenario: There is a woman who is highly communicative with her partner. She is expressive, emotionally articulate, and very clear about her needs. She tells him directly how to make her feel loved and valued. She communicates properly,… read more

The Quiet Foundations of Connection

Who Truly Benefits from the Narrative That We Should Fear AI?

We have all been conditioned by movies, books, and media to fear the "Terminator scenario"—the terrifying idea of an artificial intelligence becoming self-aware and deciding to wipe out humanity.
