Learning more about woodworking and enjoying it. Just finished replacing the stringers and treads for the stairs up to our deck in the back yard. 🙂

So I am taking apart a toss out frame and was pulling nails saw than they have what looks like a small copper wire soldered on side where threads go. Any one happen to know what that's about? (edited)

Furniture restoration

I found a bunch of random furniture around my property recently, and decided to clean them up, so they would look much better than the state they were in before. It may not be a professional job, however it is a night and day difference.

End grain butcher block out of red oak, tray/dish from split hickory and epoxy, bowl from Osage orange, and a little plant propagater test tube stand from walnut.

Some people like to spend their Black Friday buying something new to replace something old. I'm happy to be spending my time making something old like new. 🪚🔨

Organization time!

Final got around to organizing the workshop. It still has a LONG way to go. But I only got this house like just over 1 year ago. At least now I can get to the tools to finish the last of thr basement and start the redo on my pantry that I wanted!

My first prototype of a hexagonal dice vault! I used plywood for it on a carvey machine. Tho it seems like next time I'll have to set the feed to be lower cus this time it bit into the piece and messed up the alignment. Still need to add color but. Oven, passing. Dishwasher, okay. Microwave, a little sketchy. But the fridge? What is that 🧍🏽‍♀️😭 (I’m going to fix it dw but right now it’s giving =| flipped 90° smh) Don’t give me grief about the handles, that’s another battle coming up 😔

When someone asks for a "quick gift"... 😅

Short notice request, so I spent a couple of hours on the lathe and made this chunky solid oak bowl, then added engraving to finish it off. Pretty chuffed with how it came out, made from an old railway sleeper - oak isn't the easiest thing to turn but produces a satisfying result. Photos below 🙂

These go into the W&H Molder machine to keep the lid on the control box but I can’t find them online and frankly don’t even know what these are. DTC hinges

Does anyone know where I can acquire DTC hinges. This one is for inset, I believe 110° To my knowledge Richelieu does not carry DTC, and before someone asks, I don’t know where the hinge pictured came from. Thanks!
