Why is it so difficult to make friends nowadays? It’s like everyone stopped caring about others and only care about themselves

Life can be overwhelming. It seems like the older you get the harder it can be to make time for friends. And the more times someone has been hurt, the harder it is for them to open back up for friends. It is survival to care only about themselves. There does seem to be a lot more entirely self centered people though.

I think there’s just so much going on in the world and we’re all so connected now when it hadn’t been possible in the past so it’s kind of like a lot of people are a bit overloaded, not sure how to navigate the social landscape, etc

Part of that is natural especially as we age and become busy with our responsibilites. Keep in mind that a LOT of other people feel the same way. There may be 2 people that want to connect but neither will initiate it. Don't be that person just try and you may be surprised.

Found nowadays we've lost the merging of friend groups so allot of lost connection. That and everyone's so obsessed with image they are afraid to branch out or in my case over covid developed social anxiety 🙃

As we age we lose tolerance for things we find distasteful or unpleasant. It would be easier to make friends if i cared less about politics. Racism. Misogyny. The advancement of the human race. Etc. etc.

Too picky maybe?  You 100% sure you want a friend?  No clue who you are so yeh pretty tough. Everything gets more difficult as soon as you reach adulthood sadly.  Oh well. Might have to face your fears and go hang out at a public event you're attracted to. Best of luck

Going out and leaving your comfort zone are the ways to go if u feel alone, it's about presenting yourself and not others being necessarily a**holes, even tho many are. At our age people already have friend groups and many don't feel like changing their friend circle since they already have stuff going on in their lives, and new people = new risks, so how can you blame them aye?

I don't know if it's the small town effect or manifesting good vibes but making friends seem to come easily now. It sounds cliché but it honestly starts with smile.

Making friends online can still feel challenging to click with people. Keep putting yourself out there and alike people will find you.
