I think its more about what your conviction is towards learning the language. If its for fun. You'll lose that as soon as grammar hits in most languages. Take an example of how our school/college studies are never meant to be fun. But we clear all that because our conviction is to pass the degree or class. That's what you need while tackling any goal. Be clear of why you want to learn that language. Because if i want a job in Norway I'm sure as hell going to give it my all to learn because it will make my life a little bit better.
