Humans are inherently tribal. They want to do whatever helps others in their social circle (or at least appear as doing so), sometimes at the expense of people outside it - doing things that would be considered evil if done to their own, but are ignored or even praised otherwise. Even a single universally loved or hated human being is rare to come by. Same person can be an idol to one and a devil to another, based on their personal values and allegiances. A blanket statement calling all people fundamentally good or bad would come either from naivety or deep bitterness.

Humans are naturally inclined to have sympathy for each other, and even animals, as highly social creatures. Humans are entirely capable of evil of course, but the dichotomy between good and evil are wholly artificial, we simply express sympathy and choose positive choices as an expression of ourselves, but it doesn't make us entirely either.

Humans are innately good, or neutral. Never innately bad. It is conditioning and lack of proper discipline that leads humans to be bad... which sadly, happens far more often than it needs to.

People are products of their environment. Under optimal conditions, people are inherently good. Evil existing for the sake of evil is a cartoon in not a real thing. Evil can be summarized into one aspect which is selfishness driven by fear. The degree of willingness to hurt others in the pursuit of your own happiness or goals is selfishness plain and simple. Everybody can be selfish to one degree or another However it is a matter to what degree you are willing to go in the pursuit of what you want that determines evil. Although who gets to decide when that line is crossed.

humans are neither good nor bad. We invented these categories to make sense of what happens.

The same as laws we created it to keep the "peace" without even knowing what being at peace means

I don’t think people are innately good or evil. Each person does the best they can with the tools and information they have at the time. Do people do bad things and make poor choices? Sure. Are they sometimes so dangerous to others that they need their access to others removed? Unfortunately. But I don’t believe people are inherently good or bad. They just … are.

Neither good nor evil. I thinks humans have a good and a bad side but as they grow up, they tend to develop the good or bad side over the other. A human becomes good or bad as the years pass depending on him/her

@Samaya if we can't agree on a definition of the terms then we can never agree on a core nature in relation to them

I believe that a human being is born as a blank sheet and from there, his story and mannerisms begin to be told. But that doesn't mean it makes them good and after all, even if it's blank, a sheet is still a sheet. It can be dented, cut, torn, minuscule, extended or normal and this is all derived from genetics.

Research proves, beyond any doubt, that people are born good. I won't go into details. But read this if you want to know what I'm talking about. A fascinating read: The Psychopath Inside: A Neuroscientist's Personal Journey into the Dark Side of the Brain https://a.co/d/dCP8Jw5

Neither, we make our own morales on good and evil as we grow and learn. So good and evil is technically a concept of our own realities. Example, Am i evil because i robbed a bank and got away with it, or am i good because i did it so i could pay for my childs surgery. Its all concepts, its all a pov. So i think of it more as a spider web the center being neutral and each branch a good or bad and just like that whats, really good or bad if it all interweaves

Innately were neutral. Born in the twilight. Eventually we choose to do what we want. Good or bad. Free will.

That's a very binary idea. Life isn't all black and white. There are an infinite amount of possible shades between black and white. Add to that the idea that everything is variable and you got yourself pretty far away from the initial assumption that everything is inherently good or bad.

Well I think it depends on what you mean exactly, at birth we are neither good or evil. We are true neutral. But we age we are learn good and evil.... Or what we consider good and evil. And humans make chooses based on their beliefs, and wether it's good or evil would differ per person
