One of the biggest lies the less fortunate tell themselves for their lack of success is that it is in part due to the powerful & "super wealthy". As if any one of us has ever registered on their radar!

Are there powerful people? Absolutely. Do they use their money, power & influence to make things happen in their favor? I'm sure they do. Have they ever intentionally sought to hinder the progress of those less fortunate? Of course. Has that ever been the reason for my personal lack of success or failure? Not even a little bit. I have enough to deal with just handling my own short comings without dwelling on the behavior of people so powerful that my existence is more aptly compared to an ant hill than a roadblock to their wealth. I'm never going to matter to them enough for them to see me as a threat & therefore I have no reason to blame them for my failure.

Perhaps not individually, but collectively those who are impoverished are only becoming more impoverished. Then when they can no longer offer anything to be taken they take from those up the ladder, in this case the middle class. There is a reason no one talks about the erosion of the middle class anymore and that is because it is eroded.
