To the One Who Holds My Heart
In silence, I hold a love so vast, Unconditional, though unasked. With loyalty and honesty, it's cast, A respectful bond, steadfast. You're the one I yearn to claim, In my thoughts, you always remain. Time and distance, just a frame, My unwavering love, the same. Each dawn, I wish you morning's light, At dusk, I bid you sweetest night. Whispers for your heart's delight, In shadows, I stay out of sight. I may not be the chosen few, But for you, my pleasure's true. With patience, I await the cue, Hoping one day you'll feel it too. Always, your interests before my own, Perhaps love has made me overthrown. Yet, it's all I've ever known, For a heart that's turned to stone. My heart aches, unrequited, alone, I sit here, my sorrow prone. But hope keeps me from being dethroned, Believing love will call me home.
