I’m not overly obsessed with the astrology factor , although it does have accurate views on compatibility w other signs to match w I guess

I believe you can use it as kind of a guide line if you identify strongly enough but not really as the thing to define how you should approach people or things. There's no cheat sheet for human nature. The signs could be extremely compatible and sure you can have an awesome chemistry but those things don't tell us what can make things last with all our given natures and circumstances put together.
