One problem with the simulation idea is that it becomes meaningless to project anything about the "outside" without an understanding of what the simulation is or why it exists, which is not information we have access to.

Apparently the odds are like 50/50 lol. There are some compelling arguments for it though! There’s a great podcast episode all about it on a limited podcast called The End of the world with Josh Clarke, which is a podcast about different existential risks that pose a potential danger to humanity! The simulation episode is a bonus episode and isn’t about that so much as just a breakdown of the theory. Interesting stuff,
