So you know how we try to cram all of life into our days off but some days we are far too exhausted with life to even start chores.. which makes you feel really guilty about resting? I have a solution. Give yourself at least one slug day. A slug day is a day where you are expected to do about as much as a slug does. No demands, anything "done" on a slug day is a bonus, as is all rest. On a slug day you can be in bed or the couch all day, reading or watching a thing, resting, because that is the entirety of demands on you. If you have kids, have them join you, they will love slug day. If they are too little, you'll have to do a slug day plus child care, but nothing else, don't worry about the house, just feed the kiddos and keep them alive, snuggle up, and relax as much as you can. Remember, take a slug day, congratulate yourself on anything accomplished as it is all extra,I mean really be like wow you did the dishes on a slug day look at you go!extra productive!.. include naps in this. As that's super rest. Remove the guilt from rest. (Tell people who want your time that you are having a slug day, don't elaborate) That gets the rest part out of the way, without unnecessary guilt, freeing you to do stuff on the other day off or around the work day. I know it sounds silly but it does wonders for the body and mind.
