I know and remember experiencing this phenomenon in my life at least a few time. For people who have experienced it, what have you tried to do intentionally in that state? I know my second time I had it, I knew what was going on so I forced myself awake. The recent times I forced myself to try and sit up or turn toward the the sense of fear directly and tried to look at it head on. I never succeeded because it feels like you trying to do a sit up but can't move and paralyzed by dread. I know I'm weird but I wanted to see if there was other weird people like me that tried.
