What's a game whose lack of sales success kept it from becoming the franchise it oh so deserved to be? For me my usual go-to would be Sleeping Dogs, but that's because Square Enix set their expectations way too high. But in this case, I'm going to dig deeper. Silent Bomber on the ps1 courtesy of those old PSM demo disc's, and it wasn't until years later I was able to track down a copy, which makes sense as I seem to recall OPM reporting that it had sold fewer than 10k units worldwide. Now what is Silent Bomber? Simply put, it's a cracked out fusion between Bomberman and Contra, played from a shifting 3/4 to isometric view, the player must navigate a hostile space station, while engaging targets with his bomb gauntlets. The bomb gauntlets are where it gets interesting, as the player is able to lay and increasing amount of charges on a single target, or multiple targets while dodging incoming attacks, the higher the charge, the bigger the blast, throw in elemental bombs, shielded targets, and armored enemies, and you've got an oddly engaging bullet hell fusion.

Gun, I've bought several copies of it for Ps2 and PC. I really wish I could have found Darkwatch again. I think I was pretty close to beating it and the disk failed, that was a major disappointment. I forgot it for a couple of years then they did an article with it in Playboy.

DCS is the best flight simulator

I've been an aircraft buff all my life. I'm a former Air cadet, and have flown out of RAF airbases. And the closest thing you can get to that at home is DCS in VR. I love flying my primary bird. The greatest high altitude interceptor ever made. The F14 Tomcat.
