I'm not informed enough to have a favorite yet. Like many I started out with DBZ. And I dabbled in some others. Just recently have tried getting back into it. I have A LOT to watch before I even have enough to pick a favorite from.

Honestly... DBZ. It isn't technically good, has plotholes galore, loads of moments where it's nearly a slideshow, but it just feels genuine. Like the people that worked on it had as much fun as one can have in the Japanese animation industry back in 1990.

Toaru Majutsu No Index and the spin offs, because of the effort they put into making the most absurd things seem real by not shying away from the details of how the world works, yet leaving just enough as a mystery. The villains have real motives, both good and bad. Each arc has a moral lesson.
