Mystical experiences
So, I've encountered a few ppl now who claim to have had mystical experiences, in graphic detail. I find it interesting the level of detail they are willing to go into. My reaction is akin to the professor in chronicles on Narnia. There are really three options. 1. They're lying for attention. Though it does seem like a strange thing to boast of because most ppl will just think you sound crazy. 2. Psychosis, probably some type of schizophrenia. I didn't think they seemed dangerous or anything though. This seems most likely to me. This would confirm they actually believe the accounts they share. Even though it is a split from reality, it felt real to them. 3. They are telling the truth. I'm not quite so arrogant as to deny such things couldn't possibly exist just because I haven't experienced them. Though I believe we would have a lot more objective evidence by now if they were. So my questions: Have you had a mystical experience(ghosts, Astral projection, etc)? Do you remember it in clear detail? Did you run any objective tests to minimize bias/hallucinations? (edited)

Yes astral projection is real, I only did it once and things happened during that experience enough for me to know it was real. There is no objective way to prove any of this to anyone, and I won’t say that some people might fall in buckets 1 and 2, but honestly if you really want to know just do it for yourself. I spent a couple months giving a good effort into studying the methods given online to disprove it for myself and ended up confirming it. This is a potentially inaccurate statement, but I think most people automatically default to believing anyone who says these things exist in buckets 1 and 2 and leave it at that, and therefore only the few who do it themselves know what is actually true.

I think its a comfort thing for people tbh. Death can seem terrifying and reality is unforgiving so having something to hold onto like that gives comfort. Also the brain is very weird and not very well understood. It can do crazy things. Like how hypoxia causes near death experiences.
