Any one else melting in this heat lol. ?

One of the hardest things about being disabled is staying positive. The spasms and pain hit, and suddenly the world shrinks... your friend pool gets smaller, and the ability to get out there does too. But there's always hope — that has to be the Viking soul in me. 💪🛡️

Disabilty?

Are there even any willing caregivers out there looking for a partner? I've seen like 3 healthy interabled couples online but that's it... I fear people don't have the patience to be caregivers anymore...

Hey guys just a quick question: I find it difficult to find a partner of any kind due to my disabilities, all being invisible, don't attract the disability fets (which is a good thing as I have seen how some of them act). I am trying to find a way to neutralise this weight about my neck, and heart; can anyone think of a place and a way I can find acceptance and understanding in the dating world? I eventually want to find a partner who won't be terrified of my seizures, be understanding of my mobility issues, not be disgusted by my looks and bodyshape, get that I will never fit in to any social group (even here). The most important implications are financial, we all know that is a killer when looking for a partner. No work means no money, holidays, traveling, owning a home, a car, no social life, and that they might need to financially support me.

Just to qualify my points, these are my disabilities:
Generalised idiopathic epilepsy 
Autism (not fully diagnosed so no meds)
Osteoarthritis (allergic to painkillers)
Scoliosis 
Kyphosis 
Other MSK issues

Invisible disabilities

Having no money, no transport, no one to visit, it looks like I'm going to be staying in my flat for the next week and the only people I'm likely to see are working for Deliveroo.
I miss having friends and family close by, now the closest is 50 miles away.

Heatwave

Cause the memory of intending to take them is the same as actually taking them.
So do I take more and risk feeling awful from the extra sleep meds
Or do I wait and potentially not fall asleep until wayyy later than I'd want to

Hate when I can't remember if I've taken meds yet or not

You know I can't express the hardships or the emotional trauma that I have. But what I will say if people sit there and ask to be with you and you have a disability and tell them this but then they call it off or say you aren't worth it. That's on them. 

This isn't me being entitled this is me taking all of my hurt and pain and putting it into words. Why is it so damn hard for us disabled folk to find someone to love. Yes I have a bad disability and have neuropathy in my feet but that doesn't mean that I'm not worth it, or that I'm incompatible with you. 

What it honestly means is that we need to a little bit more support then what your use to giving. And if that's something you can't handle then plz don't toy with that person emotions and or feelings. Because when you do and that person sinks to the very bottom and not able to get up your going to feel guilty. Abd that's on you for that.

Man, I feel bad for these moments where I've just gone off of the app. Social anxiety and just generalized anxiety in general have been messing with me a lot, add in a sprinkle of auDHD and you get procrastination responding to people.

I apologize to anyone I've accidentally ghosted. I didn't mean any harm. I'm still learning how to function with mental, neurological, and physical conditions, and part of functioning includes socialization.

If anyone comes across this and feels like they can relate, I hope you're able to find techniques that help you function the way you want to.

I have cerebral palsy. Aged 14, watching Avatar, I saw Jake Sully go from a nobody in a wheelchair to toruk makto - a hero who unites people in times of great struggle. I decided there and then that Jake wasn’t real, but I was, and I was going to be a warrior. I’ve faced huge challenges, but I’ve graduated university with First Class Honours, published three books, and did online volunteering with global organisations, helping people and animals. So… will you fly with me?

How does your disability affect your dating? What accomodations do you wish apps had to help your search?

With my disability this is how I pick the colours, and then for the size I just zoom right the way in. Luckily I'm working digitally which helps enormously. 

I did used to draw mixed media when I had the space but then I'd either, not use colour, ask my friends and try not to forget (something that still happens a lot), or use colour randomly (I only did this with surrealism because the colours weren't important and it actually helped me build my confidence)

Would you honestly consider dating someone with a disability?

I am disabled myself.  I'm honestly curious about this. 

Can you handle dating someone with a person or persons with disabilities? It doesn't matter what type of disability. 

Is it the daily trials and extra steps that required of us keeping up with  non-disabled people?
