What is an enneagram?

A lot of people talk about this but what is it actually?

a personality type system with types from 1 to 9 and each type can have one of the two neighbor types as a wing, which is kind of a secondary type. I like MBTI much more tbh.

MBTI is more widespread definitely. But I guess it's good to dip into multiple personality tests to get an accurate read of yourself.

MBTI attempts to classify the preferences of ones nature. Enneagram attempts to classify someone's preferences based on their nurture. I find MBTI useful when used in conjunction with the deep understanding of the Jungian cognitive functions, but have yet to find value in enneagram, perhaps partially because nurture is far more complex than nature in my opinion. Perhaps if I find sufficient depth in enneagram, I will reconsider.

The Enneagram can be considered more depressing than the MBTI because it deals with how you've developed while growing up and what your core fears are or what childhood trauma you have, etc. These can display how you react to certain situations so it can go well with your MBTI type to help express what sort of things you dislike and how you approach matters.
