Depends on your use cases. I hear mac is good for video, music production, very good compliling code (which is to be a mute point with amd 7940hs laptop cpu) and has excellent battery life (another mute point with ams 7940hs cpu). If you don't use an apple device I suggest you don't buy a mac unless you need it for the reasons mentioned above. One you buy a apple device you will need to invest into apple economy system which includes buying their other hardware and services if you want to full use of their tech. A reason for windows is price, similar experience/quality (depends on which brand), customisable windows, able to play games, better software support (excluds media programs), works well with Microsoft software stacks, easy to take your media files out from your device and doesn't cost you everything from your neck and bellow to repair your device. Windows does has its downs. A few listed but not all: telemetry (can be disabled with 3rd party scripts, windows can be buggy (depending on oem/brand), requires research before you buy (which you should be doing anyways) and intrusive features (can be disabled manually and via scripts) Tldr: unless it's for media production related just go windows as it has far more positives than negatives.

Depends on what you're going to be using the system for. Overall I would say Windows cause there's more compatibility with software. Do your research before you get stuck in a money pit.
