This game changed my life
Seriously. I view life and death differently now. What a game. I'm so glad to have experienced it. If only I could experience it again. Already getting all my friends to play it. I'm also getting my first tattoo for it. Anyone else out there just played it? What did you think?

I played it when it came out and honestly it’s a very good perspective shift. You start the game hoping to explore, find you’re in a time loop with the sun exploding, and then try to stop the sun from exploding, only to realize that your star is just at the end of its natural life cycle, same with the rest of the stars in the universe. And in the game you could run from it, meander around the solar system going through time loops one after another, or accept the end by creating a new beginning in the eye of the universe built upon the ashes of the old universe. It’s an optimistically nihilistic take on the end of everything. Everything’s gonna end someday so might as well stop and smell the roses along the way, and maybe eat marshmallows around a fire while playing some tunes with friends. And when the time comes something new will come of it, you just might not get to see it. (edited)

I played it early in the year and this was absolutely one of the best games I've ever played. Everything about the game is so masterfully crafted, the ties to everything and being able to go wherever you want to all lead to one end goal is incredible. I've never seen any other game do it like this one. I often think about that ending segment a lot, the whole campfire song is magical. I imagine you've played the DLC as well? That one was really cool to add more context to the game but I actually felt that one was a bit out of place since idk the horror elements don't fit the mystery and wonder of the game imo...

But only 2 other friends of mine have played and appreciated the game enough to want the same 😔

I've been trying to fill that outer Wilds void by playing and maybe seeing some of the glitches of the solar system, and one I've found is throwing yourself at timber hearth just right can either shoot you through the planet, or if you're going "slow" enough you can fly around in the heart. To do... read more
