I feel we need emotions. We are very intuitive as beings and we have the ability to feel through emotions and get so much information about situations or potential trouble or danger. Then there's the part where emotions can cloud judgement depending on what's happening, such as the expression "wearing rose colored glasses."

I believe even emotions can be broken down into logic. Motivations and reactions tend to come from somewhere. You hate your friends dog, why? Because when you were young you were bit by the neighbors dog and you subconsciously associate them as a threat. It seems irrational to most ppl because the dog in question is so sweet, but the emotional reaction you had came from a logical reaction to a prior threat.
