Reductio ad absurdum
Philosophic conversation: Ship of Theseus parabole: The innovations in biomedical science have rendered people cyborgs in the most basic sense for over 50 years in the form of pace makers. Heart transplants and skin grafts have replaced organic parts with organic parts. Now we have neural implants being developed. Are there any singular physiological parts of a human that if replaced with a foriegn organic or bionic part - would render a person, a different person? If not, how many foreign pieces organic or biotic until you became a different person? What makes a person a person? Memories? Personality? Physiology? Genetics? Behavioral characteristics? What are your thoughts?
