Rain

Like a soft static buzzing in the mind The rain drips down the walls of my room Pooling by my feet as I watch the sun shine outside A warm summer breeze makes the long grass dance and flow Yet that's all on the other side of my window Inside is cold, damp and serene Ripples on the water like clouds in my dreams Soon my lungs will fill with the murky water And hopefully then I can sleep The water crawls up my chest, the rain drops splashing near my ears, I let myself slump into the cool comfort of it all My lighters float on the top of the water, as the candles sink down to the bottom My door locked tight, sealing all my rain inside I wonder how long it will take, for the water to burst forth and dampen the sunny scene outside I feel my lungs grow heavy, and stretch as water fills me, breath no longer lingers within my chest as blank eyes stare at the clouded roof. The rain only grows harder around me, disturbing the peaceful waters I sit in, making small waves that crash unto each other A quiet whisper, a thought, a wish maybe... That somehow, someone would open my door, before the room fills. Letting all my sadness burst forth, I wonder if it'd sweep them off of their feet, soaking them to the core, or if they'd stay standing there, waiting to take my hand, and slowly, wring me dry of the rain.
