I was having a hard time communicating that I needed more than the other person could provide and I was unsure about how to put that into words. Until I had a panic attack and I had to leave and break up over text. I panicked over thinking I was going to get stuck in a cycle of my words being brushed off in favor of the other person's perception. I learned I have to be clear. I have to be sure we're on the same page. If hyperbole is not being understood or met with defensive attitude, that is not something that's going to improve with time and patience. Sometimes you just have to say I can't do this I gotta go. You can't be a relationship that's always blunt and direct. There needs to be nuance and anticipation and a willingness to grow together.
