I literally just got off of a 45 minute discussion with my best friend about why he doesn't use a smart phone, how he sees so many people who are glued to them and aren't taking in the world around them, I'm talking about how he has a responsibility to his loved ones to be available, we went round in circles on many points. I can definitely advocate his position, but I also feel frustrated that he won't take my point of view into consideration, he's steadfast. Personally, I love having access to all the information I could possibly need, and I don't feel like it runs my life. I use it as a tool to make my life easier, albeit in a technology-ridden world. I guess some people just don't have the self assurance that allows it to consume them, and I think he was saying he is one of those people.
