So people stream on twitch for lots of reasons. Some do it to earn a living (takes a lot of time and dedicated effort). Some do it to show off what they are doing. Some use it as a form of advertisement for other activities like competitive contests. And some others like myself just do it to share the joy we have with something we do. And a lot of different activities can be streamed, there's vacation streams, baking streams, art streams, even just chat streams As for just those watching the streamers, it can be thought of like watching a show, just pure entertainment for them. Some others also use it as a way to get more familiar with stuff, like say watching someone play a game you're thinking about buying. Lots of reasons for both streamers and viewers to be on twitch.
