I had a total colectomy about 6 years ago and this would be a symbol you would make when editing a piece of writing to tell the author to "insert a colon" here. Its right by one of my surgery scars.

As soon as I cinch the drawstrings on my high quality trash bags, Schmendrick will race up and start gnashing at them. Chews them in half. It's compulsory. I've never seen an animal so determined to experience an impacted colon.
