What does everyone do, when there kids leave after your time, after being seperated or divorced to not let her quietness and emptiness drive you insane?

It has been difficult to try to get her to get the last of her stuff. I've just started putting everything in the garage for her to pick up on her own time. It's a relief to reclaim space though.
