Have you ever drawn on thin cardboard?
I found a flimsy cardboard and drew on it (this is about a year old now). When I added too much pressure I'd poke a hole by accident. It really was indeed, flimsy. But it made for good practice for when adding pressure when drawing. Helped me get a more lighter hand, and just overall experience of drawing on different surfaces, whether difficult or not. It's the texture of traditional, I guess is why I can't really move over to digital. There's this feeling, this satisfaction i can't describe.
