Kerela, aka bitter gourd, aka bitter melon - delicious in a curry. It's weird how somethings we hated as kids tend to be favourites as adults. This vegetable is pretty healthy, helps reduce blood sugar, high in nutrients such as vitamin C (99% DV/RDA), studies show it has cancer killing properties, said to lower cholesterol, helps with fibre intake and other gastrointestinal issues.
