I’ve always been an introvert, but I haven’t lived around friends or family in such a long time I find myself going out by myself and talking to strangers all the time. Am I some sort of hybrid?

There are almost no real extroverts or introverts, at least not fully. An ambivert is a possibility. I don't really enjoy putting people into categories, at least not in terms of a personality, no one knows anything about each other. I have the same situation as you, or well, not the same one exactly, but I haven't been around my friends and family much in a while either (for two years). That's why I download apps like this one. I like to call myself a "selectively extroverted introvert", if this name fits your opinion about yourself, that's great 😂. Just do what feels comfortable I guess.

Being an introvert doesn't mean your necessarily antisocial. Being an introvert usually means you tend to prefer quiet, less stimulating environments in the company of family and close friends. I'm an ambivert, so I like social meet ups and exciting social events, but i can't do it regularly. After a certain point, I become too socially overwhelmed, and seek quiet solitude in such scenarios. (edited)
