A Cinematic Co-Incidence
As India celebrates its 77th independence day, Let's share a strange coincidence between the films highlighting patriotism and national integration. While the film 'Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose- The Forgotten Hero' (2005/ YouTube) centred on the life and times of the legendary Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, 'Delhi-6' (2009/Netflix) centred on a man's search for his roots, amidst the religious divide taking place in one of the oldest Indian commercial streets: Chandni Chowk. The first coincidence is certainly the theme of integration, and the second is the music score of both films that A. R. Rahman provided. The Third one is very unique. At the National Film Awards (52nd and 57th), both films won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration and Best Production Design (the late Samir Chanda)! #cinema #movie #hindi #india #indian #patriotism
